Whatcha Say: Madonna’s Super Bowl Performance Had Readers Talking
Fri Feb 10 2012 by Idolator Staff
Like everything she does, Madonna's Super Bowl halftime performance was both celebrated and criticized. Kelly Clarkson's rendition of the national anthem, on the other hand, was universally praised — the same week her single "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" knocked Adele out of the #1 spot on Billboard's Top 100 chart and held Madonna's new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin", at #3. Also in the football spirit, Lady Gaga posed topless with a pigskin before unleashing the tour poster, stage design and first few tour dates for her upcoming Born This Way Ball. See what our readers had to say about all this after the jump. More »
Jimmy Fallon Impersonates Taylor Swift & More During Super Bowl Special
Mon Feb 6 2012 by Becky Bain
Jimmy Fallon impersonations can brighten up any day, and last night brought out a whole pop-heavy assortment of them. During his post-Super Bowl special, Jimmy auditioned for the halftime show while dressed up as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Eminem, Josh Groban, LMFAO's RedFoo and Shufflebot, of course, his own hybrid creation, Tebowie. Even better, his Super Bowl-skewed performances were judged by the coaches of The Voice (thanks to some well-edited stock footage). Watch below. More »

Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance: Watch It Now!
Sun Feb 5 2012 by Idolator Staff
Most years, people watch the Super Bowl to see a bunch of men playing football. Regardless of which team emerges as the champ of Super Bowl XLVI, we declare that everyone who catches Madonna's halftime performance of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" is a winner. You know what day it is, right? That day that Madonna is performing on national TV! (And we hear some guys might be playing football, or something.) But as we await Madge and her plethora of special guests (reportedly including Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, M.I.A., and Cee Lo Green) there's one more major artist making an appearance — Kelly Clarkson, tapped for the honor of performing the national anthem at the Super Bowl XLVI. Needless to say, the forgiving songbird sounded great and, as a bonus, remembered all the words! In football terms, we call this performance a touchdown. Watch it below. More »
Melanie Amaro Bests Elton John In Super Bowl Commercial
Fri Feb 3 2012 by Idolator Staff
Melanie Amaro first earned "respect" when she was crowned the first winner of The X Factor (which, don't know if you've heard, is going through some growing pains at the moment). After signing a $5 million contract with Epic Records, Melanie has also landed a starring role in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial. In it, Sir Elton John plays a tyrannical king who doesn't let his people drink Pepsi. Melanie saves the day by belting out Aretha Franklin's classic, and blows Elton down to the chamber below, releasing Pepsi for all! Watch it after the jump. More »
Watch Madonna Answer Stupid Questions At Her Super Bowl Press Conference
Thu Feb 2 2012 by Becky Bain
When you sign up to perform at the Super Bowl, you also sign up to be asked dozens of asinine questions by journalists. Madonna attended an NFL press conference earlier today, where she was asked hard-hitting questions, like, "What do you think of Indianapolis?" and "What's the craziest thing you've seen in Indy so far?" and "Is it true that [your ex Alex Rodriquez] has an oil painting of himself depicted as a centaur, half man, half horse, in his home?" (She has no idea, but she is pretty sure A-Rod has a picture of her on a horse somewhere.) We didn't expect people to throw grenades at her, but c'mon — this is Madonna. Don't waste the lady's time with your softballs! If you've got a spare 22 minutes, watch the entire press conference below. More »
Nicki Minaj’s Tour Rider: Deli Meats, Space Heaters And Room Temperature Red Bull
Thu Feb 2 2012 by Erika Brooks Adickman
First we were treated to a preview of the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime spectacle, and now, thanks to Nicki Minaj's upcoming Wonderland cover story, we can get a glimpse into how the outrageous raptress' Lucas Oil Stadium dressing room will be decked out this Sunday too. Reportedly, the mag reveals Barbz' latest tour rider demands. And while it may seem quite tame for a Grammy nominee (there's no talk of avoiding eye contact, ahem, Katy Perry), her demands include enough food (and space heaters) to keep all of her personalities — or at least a six-person entourage — satisfied. Jump below for a sampling of Nicki's requirements (room temperature Red Bull, what?!). Do as she says or face Roman's revenge.

The Best — And Worst! — National Anthem Performances Football Has Ever Seen
Thu Feb 2 2012 by Idolator Staff
In just three days, Super Bowl XLVI will be under way in Indianapolis. There will be touchdowns, Madonna, M.I.A., LMFAO, maybe Cee Lo Green, bets won and bets lost. There will also be flags flown and an anthem sung, as is the custom for big American sports spectacles. This, to many, is the biggest of them all, and the very worthy Kelly Clarkson will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner", bringing her range and power to a song that many have attempted but few have mastered.
There have been some incredible — and some unforgivable — versions of the national anthem sung at football games past. Take a trip down memory lane with us while we recap the five very best and the five very worst. More »
OK Go Appear In Chevy Sonic’s Super Bowl Commercial (But Their Music Doesn’t)
Wed Feb 1 2012 by Becky Bain
It's may be a bit confusing why OK Go agreed to appear in a Chevy Sonic Super Bowl commercial without one of their own songs playing in the ad — the track featured in the below commercial (with a Chevy Sonic performing "100% real stunts"!) is .fun's "We Are Young". But it makes more sense when you consider that most of the band's footage comes from their upcoming video for "Needing/Getting", which also features a Chevy Sonic. And we've officially said the words Chevy Sonic three (now four!) times in this single post, not even including in the headline. Well done, marketing geniuses at Chevrolet.
