TLC Biopic In The Works At VH1
Thu Dec 1 2011 by Robbie Daw
A biopic on hit-making '90s R&B trio TLC will be creeping across the small screen at some point, reports The Hollywood Reporter. VH1 is producing a series of music-related telefilms, including one on Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. The script, it's noted, is being written by Kate Lanier, who penned Tina Turner biopic What's Love Got To Do With It and — wait for it — Glitter.

TLC’s T-Boz Files For Bankruptcy (Again)
Mon Nov 28 2011 by Erika Brooks Adickman
TLC singer Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins has filed for bankruptcy for the second time this year, TMZ reports. The "No Scrubs" songstress' accrued debt — totaling $768,642.99, to be exact — stems primarily from the mortgage on her $1.2 million home, insufficient monthly income and $250,000 in child support still owed to Watkins, who has a daughter with rapper Mack 10. The four-time Grammy winner attempted unsuccessfully to file for bankruptcy protection in February, and has famously recounted her monetary woes of the mid-'90s on VH1 Behind The Music. For a refresher on how a multiplatinum-selling artist can go broke, we've got that clip after the jump. More »
Watch Taylor Swift Pay Homage To Pink And TLC In Philadelphia
Mon Aug 8 2011 by Robbie Daw
Far away from all the musical magic and mayhem at the annual Lollapalooza fest this weekend, Taylor Swift brought her Speak Now World Tour to Philadelphia, home of the Liberty Bell, cheesesteak and — Pink and TLC! Well, okay — TLC are a bit more synonymous with Atlanta, where they were formed. But the group's late rapper Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was originally from Philly, which is enough of a stretch for Taylor to cover their 1999 chart-topper "Unpretty" live in the City Of Brotherly Love. Watch below!

‘American Idol’ Finale: We Judge The Performances
Thu May 26 2011 by Becky Bain
Okay, so most of our predictions for American Idol Season 10 didn't end up happening, but we can't say we're that upset with country crooner Scotty McCreery being crowned champ. Besides seeing the 17-year old being rubbed by all his fellow Idols (and smooched on the cheek by runner-up Lauren Alaina), last night's finale was really about the high-profile performances. And since we have nothing else to judge or critique as the season is over and done with, let's rate the performances from best to worst... and weirdest. More »

Thu Nov 11 2010 by Becky Bain
Keri Hilson gives us a history lesson in her new video for "Pretty Girl Rock", off her upcoming album No Boys Allowed. Miss Keri Baby kicks off the vid taking a cue from Josephine Baker in 20s regalia, and soon Hilson goes flows throughout the decades, fashioning herself as Diana Ross, Janet Jackson decked out in her utilitarian wear in "Rhythm Nation" and TLC's T-Boz in the group's silk pajamas-sporting "Creep" vid. (TLC is sure being shown a lot of love today!) Watch below.

The Ting Tings On Freezing In Berlin, Loving TLC And Making A “Playlist Album”
Thu Nov 11 2010 by Becky Bain
Around this time last year, the Ting Tings were tucked away in their studio in Berlin, writing and recording their follow-up to their debut album, We Started Nothing. Now the Grammy nominated, indie electro-rock-pop duo from Manchester, comprised of Katie White and Jules De Martino, are ready to release their sophomore LP (which is not called Kunst, by the way — but more on that later). And they've established their own way of getting attention.
"We’re not the loudest band in the room… you know, whip cream guns strapped to my tits, like how pop people are," Katie told us during our exclusive sit-down with the band. "We’re quiet in the little details, which I think is our way of being ballsy.”
We would certainly describe the British duo as having some serious guts. Instead of sticking strictly to the brassy dance-pop that turned "That's Not My Name" and "Shut Up And Let Me Go" into radio smashes, the band stretched for eclecticism this time around. They drew inspiration from TLC to Fleetwood Mac to cheesy movie themes from the 80s to create what they call their "playlist album". Head below for details on the Ting Tings' latest, and why living in Berlin in the wintertime might not have been such a great idea in retrospect. More »

Drake Shows His Sensitive Side (And His Love Of TLC) On “I Get Lonely Too”
Tue Oct 5 2010 by Becky Bain
Drake dropped a new song on his official site today that hails from his upcoming mixtape, It's Never Enough. On "I Get Lonely Too", the rapper/monotone singer finds inspiration from, of all places, TLC's "FanMail", from the 1999 album of the same name. Our first reaction: wha?! Hop below to listen to him cover the legendary 90s girl group. What's next, Drake taking on The Spice Girls' "Wannabe"? (Actually, that would be incredible.)
