Rick Ross is working hard on promoting his Rich Forever mixtape, and the next up on deck for the MC is the video for “High Definition”, featuring Pharrell and Wale. Believe it or not, the Teflon Don’s ginormous collection of neck bling isn’t the most eye-catching thing in this batch of photos. Flip through our gallery of the hip-hop pals on-set, and can we get a vid for “Mine Games” with Kelly Rowland next? [Via Rap Radar] More »

Watch Wiz Khalifa Indulge In His Favorite “Dessert”

Fri Nov 18 2011 by Idolator Staff
It's not that Wiz Khalifa doesn't know what most people consider to be "dessert." The Taylor Gang leader calls out Girl Scout cookies and cherry pie in the hook of his freestyle take on Wale's "Bait." But the sweet stuff isn't really his style. Instead, the Pittsburgh MC prefers uh, herbal delights, which he demonstrates in his latest Bill Paladino-directed clip. Watch it after the jump. More »

Justin Bieber Lands Second Chart-Topping Album Of The Year

Wed Nov 9 2011 by Robbie Daw
The Mariah Yeater baby scandal didn't seem to affect Justin Bieber's album sales during Under The Mistletoe's first week of release, as Billboard reports that Beliebers snatched up 210,000 copies of the holiday LP — enough for a #1 debut on the Top 200. This marks Justin's second trip to the top of the album chart in 2011, following Never Say Never: The Remixes. Billboard also notes that Under The Mistletoe is the first Christmas album by a male artist to debut at #1 on the Top 200 in the chart's history. More »

Cee-Lo, Miguel, J. Cole, And More Play The NBA All Stars Weekend

Sun Feb 20 2011 by Idolator Staff
NBA "All-Stars" Weekend may not necessarily refer to the musicians present, but it might as well! So far LA’s Staples Center has been host to Miguel guesting for Far East Movement on their single “Rocketeer,” Cee-Lo and an all-girl band performing “Forget You” (sans Muppets and Gwyneth Paltrow), and J. Cole, Wale, and Melanie Fiona doing “Beautiful Bliss.” (Meanwhile, Rihanna and Kanye are set to appear during halftime tonight.) With all that talent behind the mic, who really needs basketball, anyway? Catch these live performances after the jump. More »

Wale Has One Thing On His Mind With Two New Music Videos

Tue Feb 9 2010 by Robbie Daw
D.C. rapper Wale serves up two new music videos this week, for "Pretty Girls" and "My Sweetie." Chris Robinson—who, amongst other things, shot the clip for Jordin Sparks' "No Air"—directed "Pretty Girls." Incarcerated MC Gucci Mane also features on the song (though, obviously, not in the video). The second clip, "My Sweetie," was directed by tabi Bonney.

Both look like they were shot on a shoestring budget—but, as the one tune's title suggests, contain no shortage of young, pretty girls. Head below the jump to catch Wale's double feature! More »

Beyoncé Flies Into The Video Music Awards’ Orbit

Thu Aug 27 2009 by Maura

Beyoncé has been added to the lineup of the Sept. 13 Video Music Awards, where she’ll join her husband Jay-Z, as well as Green Day, Muse, Taylor Swift, P!nk, and Lady GaGa. Also, the VMAs are bringing back that “house band” idea where lesser lights of the music galaxy collaborate with one act as the show goes into interstitial moments—the house band is the D.C. go-go outfit the Uncalled 4 Band (a.k.a. UCB), and it’ll be led by tourmate and fellow Washingtonian Wale while collaborating with with The All-American Rejects, Pitbull, and 3OH!3 over the course of the evening. (See what I meant about “lesser lights” there?) A performance of the UCB and Wale collaborating on “Sexy Lady” after the jump. More »
