Fri Aug 19 2011 by Becky Bain
Did You Hear?

:: Will Smith is apparently tired of being the world's biggest movie star (or he's just jealous of his daughter Willow), and wants to release another rap album. He's reportedly "working" (however vague that means) with producer La Mars “Mars” Edwads, who's collaborated with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.  [PopCrush]

:: Out of all the names that have been tossed around to play Janis Joplin in a biopic—from Brittany Murphy to Pink to Zooey Deschanel—we never imagined Amy Adams would end up with the role. Not because she's not a great actress, but because she usually gets typecast as princesses and nuns and pretty ingenues, not rock-n-roll legends who died of heroin overdoses. [Celebuzz]

:: The members of Devo are launching a web reality show. Reality shows are typically bad, but Devo is usually good. We don't know how to feel about this. It's a wash? [Paste]
