Lil Jon's new album will be called and sound like Crunk Rock. "I worked with the guitar player from P.O.D., Marcos, a punk band called Whole Wheat Bread from Jacksonville, Fla., Kid Rock and a few others ... My shit is real rock guitars with my beats, not keyboard guitars with ghetto beats. It's gonna be a little different from what you hear right now, but I think everyone will love it," he told Billboard. Also, he hopes his album will get people to fall in love with Axl Rose all over again:
"One thing I like is people are opening [our] ears to the music, 'cause [we] tend to be closed-minded to sh*t we don't know about...It might make a motherf**ker that don't listen to rock go listen to some Guns N' Roses."
The concept doesn't sound like such a horrible idea (the actual rappers and singers involved are mostly unimpeachable), but since when did GNR become the kind of music a person needed to expose others to?

Well here's that Whole Wheat Bread bunch, at least.
in regards to the last paragraph of this entry, it may be worth pondering who this "we" entity is that Lil Jon speaks of. it'll all become clear then.
Well duh, but they were one of the biggest acts in the world at one time. The point is more that you don't hear anyone talking about opening up people's ears to Beyonce or Kanye, because everyone's ears already are. Thus the cultural shift.
Cue 'party like a rockstar' ripoffs.
Whole Wheat Bread kicks ass. Seriously one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
They should open every punk show.
DJ Spooky tried this with that guy from Slayer (?), Meat Beat Manifesto and Chuck D.
'tweren't that great, but I'll keep an open mind and a closed wallet.
Goddamnit.
You guys are all gonna be eating your words when this rules.
When are rappers going to realize that the best way to infuse rock and rap is by using acoustic guitars? I mean, we all know "Fallin'" was the best thing on the Judgement Night soundtrack, right?
@WhineyPTW: I would much rather he make an entire album like the salsa remix of "Get Low."
