Chingo's always been something like the Hispanic hip-hop Henny Youngman (and the best merchandiser in the game); his stab at humorously tackling immigration reform comes off a more like a queasy Benny Hill sketch than anything else. Still, you can't really hate on a guy whose Web site features him getting busted by the cops for having contraband tamales in his trunk; between this and the Hell Rell cover, the line between "best" and "worst" album cover of the year is getting even harder to make out.
[A tip of the hat to Eskay at Nah Right for pointing this one out to us.]

Points for using the "Pedestrians fleeing for their lives" sign from the infamous Camp Pendleton part of Interstate 5 in North San Diego
+1 for the dubs on the police car, too.
That cover isn't bad at all, at least the artwork and title share the same theme. The new Go! Team album cover is horrible. It was clearly made by a middle schooler with an x-acto knife in art class.
The thing about both the Hell Rell and Chingo Bling covers is...I don't think you can consider them bad, because personality-wise, it's pretty spot-on for both of those guys. Anyone who's listened to much of either of them, like I do, pretty much develops the same general image of them: Hell Rell is a ridiculous over the top gangsta rapper that is probably the best stereotype of the Dipset aesthetic, and Chingo Bling is an over the top comedic rapper that has his tongue planted firmly in his cheek at all times (dude raps in that hat and those boots, among other things). If either dude had put out a cover like Illmatic or Ready to Die, I would have been supremely disappointed. Props to the Hell Rell cover for making him not look 65, though.
this isn't even that ridiculous. i have a feeling chingo bling actually spends a lot of his time doing exactly what he is doing on the cover.
and by that i mean "participating in heavily stylized, hard-lit photoshoots that involve mexican stereotypes and jumping fences in cowboy boots."
I hope I get deported somewhere this hasn't been released
