That Chingo Bling is kind of funny. The PJ Olsson big-head baby-angel looks like it's going to use the Empire state building to pick it's nose...which in my book, marks it the loser.

I like the chicken on Chingo's cover. He gets my vote.

Dude. The WTC memorial lights? American Scream? Are you people nuts? There is only one vote and it ain't Chingo Bling.

I had not noticed the chicken. That seals it.

1) There's a chicken in the Chingo Bling's Parental Advisory sticker.
2) He's rockin' sparking white cowboy boots, black cowboy hat with diamond chains!!! And he's posing like a Don on his t-shirt!!
3) The sparkly/gaudy Chingo Bling font and "Deport" resembling the "Cops" logo!!!!

Gotta vote American Scream. There are so, so, so many things wrong with that cover. I mean... the swarm of angel babies?

The PJ cover reminds me of creepy angel art that I often see at antique/lawn ornament shops.

This is no contest. The Chingo Bling one is purposefully garish and silly, the other one is just hideous.

Chingo Bling is fantastic in so many ways.

I think we need to go upstairs for a ruling on this--are we considering intent, or just pure aesthetics? Seems like every matchup involves a "It's intentionally ugly/funny/spankrocky!"

Chingo Bling is probably more atrocious, but trying to be funny , where PJ Olsson just makes me want to disembowel him with a letter opener.

Come on people. The Chingo Bling cover is a joke, and a funny one too. The Olsson thing combines so many sincere horrible kitsch elements that it's in a different league altogether. PLUS IT LOOKS LIKE THE BUILDING IS GOING UP THE ANGEL'S NOSE

Chingo Bling doesn't belong in this competition. He's got what might be the BEST album cover of 2007.

@Bob Loblaw, it seems like the majority of us are punishing those who are trying to be creative and failing miserably (Dream Theater) over those who're not creative at all (ex. Britney Spears).

But I can't punish Chingy. I think I'll put that up as my new desktop.

"American Scream" sounds like something a thirteen-year-old would think is clever.

I couldn't vote for Chingo Bling. He's like Houston's best hustler-rapper ever. To me he's like the coolest cartoon character that ever lived.

For the record, as of now the two covers are in a dead heat, with two votes separating them. If science vs romance is serious about changing his/her vote to PJO, we have a tie.

I'm a PJO voter myself, for all the reasons highlighted above: witty kitsch vs. bad kitsch, intention vs. tastelessness.
