So the Audioslave reunion headlines Coachella in 2014, by my calculation.

This is totally unsurprising - it was a green-card/cash-in marriage from the start. I don't have details, but man did you hear how many months it took Cornell's camp and the Rage camp to negotiate the launch of the band 3-4 years ago? No one wanted to budge on anything royalties-wise, Cornell reportedly extracted a promise from Morello that they wouldn't constantly be recording political shit, and the members' two respective labels had to agree to share the band - one album on Sony, one album on Universal. My guess is they put up with the compromises for the first two records because they sold like hotcakes, but then the third record stiffed and Cornell probably wondered why he was bothering.

All kidding aside, I expect a Soundgarden reunion at some point in the next two years, probably after CC's next solo album flops.

I'm very happy for Mr. Cornell, but not nealry as happy as Mr. de la Rocha is.

Okay, here's where I openly proclaim myself as a tool, but...

I'm happy to hear about a new CC solo album. "Euphoria Morning" was quite good overall, and really overrated.

You were right the first time.

For people who like music from the past, but are not stuck in that era, Audioslave were great. No they weren't Soundgarden at their peak, but I personally thought the first album was the best thing Cornell did since "Badmotorfinger". It was great to hear "Show Me How To Live" and "Shadow On The Sun" stuck between all the garbage that the radio conglams have been spewing out the last few years.

The time is ripe for a Soundgarden reunion -- Target is selling baby doll dresses, all the college girls are wearing leggings and long shirts a la Bridget Fonda.
