I almost forgot to mention that Maura chimed in from her vacation to let us know that Chicago radio is bleeping out the word "Uranus" from the family-friendly edit of R. Kelly's "Sex Planet," proving that R. can even make radio programmers nervous over something as innocuous as a large ball of gas.

preemptive "i know uranus is one of the 'ice' planets" joke caveat.
i was in virgin megastore one day and they were playing the edited version of "real talk" which was almost as hilarious as the uncensored version.
Heh heh, Uranus.
Seriously, what is up with the censors? Are we going to be bleeping the boring astronomers talking on NPR now? Probably not, since they'll pronounce it yer-en-ess
When they bleeped it, did the use one of those patented Kelly-voice "DOOT!"s from Trapped in the Closet?
My favorite edit ever was in the censored version of "Sure Shot" by the Beastie Boys, which was a hit while I was DJ'ing at my college radio station. The words "gears I'm" in the phrase "Listen everybody 'cause I'm shifting gears/I'm fresh like Dougie when I set my specs" was bleeped, presumably because the label thought it said "jism."
