  • Hoo boy. This is gonna be one heck of a slash-and-burn job. For all you nay-sayers about the state of the industry, this event -- more than any other -- is definitely going to change the shape of the competitive landscape. Or what's left of it.

    I imagine bits and pieces are going to be sold off to the highest bidder (look for a firefight over the publishing division!) and ballast will be thrown overboard. Which is to say, if I were an exec at EMI, I'd be running scared now. Get ready to justify your existence, people!
