No shit on the Feist sales: last I checked, iTunes had her at #3 (?!!) -- even if not a single radio station plays her, those sales could vault the song into the Top 40 or even Top 20 on the Hot 100.
30 percent is a typical retail margin. In fact, if you're buying a CD at anything close to Universal's suggested retail price, it's more than 30 percent.
Yeah, Universal is full of crap. If they make 4 dollars off a disc they are lucky. With iTunes you ain't gotta make anything. It's win/win. They are idiots.
A 70/30 split is indecent? I guess they're just pissed that they can't have all 100%. Dickheads.
