The UK's Bereavement Register released its list of the top 10 songs played at funerals over the weekend:
1 Goodbye My Lover, James Blunt; 2 Angels, Robbie Willams; 3 I've Had The Time Of My Life, Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley; 4 Wind Beneath My Wings, Bette Midler; 5 Pie Jesu, Requiem; 6 Candle In The Wind, Elton John; 7 With Or Without You, U2; 8 Tears In Heaven, Eric Clapton; 9 Every Breath You Take, The Police; 10 Unchained Melody, Righteous Brothers
Yes, that's "Every Breath You Take" at No. 9—because there's nothing like giving someone the message that they'll be stalked all the way past the grave. Do you think we can blame Diddy for this?

If anyone plays that song at my funeral I'll haunt them for eternity. How's THAT for picking a pile o'crapola for people to associate with me?
moral of the story: do not die. and don't have any friends that die, either.
I want 'Sympathy For The Devil' played at my funeral.
Please don't let this be a double comment, but I want 'Sympathy For The Devil' played at my funeral.
I'm more horrified at the "Dirty Dancing" entry. "I've Had the Time of My Life"--at a funeral? Well, of course you have. You're dead now. The time of your life was had; you don't have a choice about it. How unimaginative.
Plus, sax rock is a horrible thing to do to someone who can't fight back.
.....Nice to know someone else hates the Police. Number 5's the only thing in that list I wouldn't ectoplasmicly bitch-slap my survivors for picking at my funeral!
So I heard the most amazing thing today. It was this article read on a station I'm pretty sure is out of Charlotte. I thought everything sounded familiar, and then I realized that I'd read it already.
Bastard's can't even make their own material.
I'm just glad that we've gone past the "ironic funeral song" stage, although returning to the "misinformed funeral song" stage is small comfort. No-one wants a repeat of the funeral where Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping" was played.
