Karl Alvarez, bassist for punk pioneers the Descendents and All, is sadly learning how much it sucks to be a rock lifer without adequate health insurance after a heart attack put him in the hospital a few weeks back. He's now on the mend, but his pals have set up a MySpace page where you can make PayPal donations if you've ever enjoyed any song that had an extra "-age" added to the end of it. (You have to suffer through a long tuning-up section during the above clip, but it's worth it for the only YouTube'd performance of "Bikeage," which is one of the best songs ever in the history of all (no pun intended) mankind.)

Oh God this sucks. I love the Descendants so much. Isn't there a union or something musicians can join?
Thanks for the heads-up, Idolators. Karl's a great guy and has made a huge contribution to punk music. I had no idea about the heart attack or the donation site, so good lookin' out, y'alls.
