The Bourne Company, which owns the copyright for "When You Wish Upon A Star," has filed a copyright-infringement lawsuit against Fox and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane for using the song's melody under what it's claiming were "anti-Semitic lyrics" on a 2000 episode of the show. Hey, look, a plucked-from-the-air-at-random cultural reference! (See what I did there?) [E!]

The manatees are gonna have to pay up.
Also, that particular episode was never originally aired and is one of the reasons Family Guy was originally taken off the air.
I did see what you did there. And, lo, it was awesome.
This reminds me of that time Max Headroom sued me for *head twitch* sued me for *head twitch* sued me for copyright infringement.
That episode "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" was released on a DVD set back in 2004...way to keep on top of your copyrights when it takes over 3 years (or 7 as the case may be) to gin up some outrage...
That song was NOT anti-semitic...if you want genuine anti-semitism, look no further than Ahmedinajhad, but not this spoof...
I enjoy Family Guy for the most part, but I agree that American Dad needs to go away...quickly, quietly and with extreme prejudice.
Please make Seth MacFarlane go away.
