The latest issue of Details has a creepy story on Robert Daniels, a 27-year-old with a particularly bad strain of tuberculosis who's been kept isolated from the public since last summer. So what does a locked-away public-health threat listen to in his downtime?
Somewhere in the middle of Daniels' incarceration, concerned nurses on Ward 41 did manage to bring a computer, a TV, a cell phone, and a boom box into Room 15, along with a few CDs by Air, the French electronica duo—Daniels says he likes to listen to "weird music."
Here's hoping that record selection included Moon Safari—the last thing a sick person needs to hear is 10 000 Hz Legend on repeat. As for own picks, we would have gone with an entire .RAR file of the combined discographies of Guided By Voices and Tupac Shakur; that way, even if we were stuck for two years, we'd have something new to listen to every day.

Did anyone here read Haunted by Palahniuk? This story is stolen directly from the pages of that book.
10,000 Hz. Legend > Moon Safari
Wow, Air is so "weird"!
@dentist: Are you actually a normal thinking human being?
I'd pick Mudhoney's Superfuzzbigmuff with one track on repeat: "Touch Me I'm sick." That'd creep out the nurses.
G!B!V!

Throw in the Fading Captain series and you'll never reach the end.
@Lucas Jensen: I wouldn't go as far as dentist goes, but the awfulness of 10,000 Hz is what's overrated, not the record itself. Seriously, I really liked it in a three-stars kind of way; it's just a total mindfuck after what we'd come to expect on Safari. Imagine it's an Air side project rather than an Air album, and you might actually enjoy it.
