Hey, I really dug that JunkieXL remix of "A Little Less Conversation". It made Elvis hip again for a whole new generation. And due to FIFA's & Nike's use of it during the 2002 World Cup, Elvis was once again an international phenomenon.
Now, Paul Oakenfold's remix of "Rubberneckin'" a couple of years ago? Not so much.
I do like Mark Ronson's stuff, so I *am* interested in hearing this.
1)Take a famous song.
2)Accentuate all the already there but in their proper places parts to a laughable degree.
3)Profit.
Makes Bob Dylan actually listenable and relevant.
Why do these "hip" remixes always sound much more dated than the originals?
find st etienne's elvis cover 'we're coming in loaded.'
not too thrilled about mark ronson covering dylan; but a good remake was mousse t's 'sun is shining' marley cover
