Last week, White House mastermind Karl Rove demonstrated his knack for white-collar rhymes by freestyling at the annual Correspondents' Association dinner. And now PETA is taking him to task for some of his more daring lyrics. From MSNBC.com:
"Listen up suckas, don't get the jitters," Rove rapped, "but MC Rove tears the heads off of critters." And when asked if he has any hobbies, Rove said he enjoys "ripping the tops off of animals" and demonstrated with his hands.
"We saw your bizarre routine. . . and our first thought was, 'Don't give up your day job,'" PETA president Ingrid Newkirk wrote in a letter to Rove at the White House. "On second thought, we do wish you'd give up your day job. . . . You have a severe compassion deficit and, sadly, you have the president's ear, and the last thing this country needs is someone whispering something violent into it."
Like so many rebellious rappers before him, Rove will now have to maintain his thuggish persona in public, a task that involves arguing with Bill Cosby, getting a "G.O.P. O.D.B." tattoo across his torso, and posing on the cover of Vibe with his arms stretched out cross-style while a lone tear trickles from his skywards-gazing eyes.

After subjecting my eyes to the horrors displayed in that slice of footage, I find comfort in imagining that later on that night Rove found himself ball-gagged and tied into a sling, while a very well-endowed black man in a leather harness pounded him furiously while snarling, "YOU - THOUGHT - THAT - WAS - CUTE, DIDN'T - YOU, BOY? IS - IT - STILL - CUTE?"
suffice it to say, it's likely that the well-endowed black man in the aforementioned comment wasn't the shuffling, step-n'-fetch-it guy pictured laughing in the back.

@Jude: Any non-caucasian attendee of a Republican function merits the response "BLACK DUDES IN SWEDEN!". I saw that (hopefully, satiric) expression on the cover of Big Brother Skateboarding about seven years ago, & it's stuck.
Now, in fact, if I see, say, a gay-rights flag flying on Milwaukee's southwest side (not exactly the Castro, heh), I still yell BLACK DUDES IN SWEDEN. 'Cause it's all just "out of place".
