Rivers Cuomo and Weezer have filed suit against Miller Brewing Company for the use of the band's name in a 2004 Rolling Stone ad. The ad, which used as its artwork concert tickets from a number of bands, name-checked Weezer, the also-litigious Audioslave, and a few bands with which Weezer "do not wish to be associated with in any advertisement." (Audioslave's lawsuit, which was filed a year ago, registered the same complaint.) Weezer is claiming that the ads have caused millions of dollars worth of damage to its reputation—but we're of the opinion that, after being name-checked among such mispelled lowlights as Trapt and Puddle of Mudd, they might be asking for too little.

Miller added insult to injury by creating an association between Audioslave and "other bands and musical performers whom Audioslave does not wish to be associated with," which "further damaged" the band's reputation.
So they worry about having their name mentioned in the same ad as some bands they dont like, but seem unconcerned about illegally travelling to Cuba and kissing Castro's behind in Havana (then selling a DVD of the whole charade)? So Castro good - Puddle of Mudd bad?
Static-X, Puddle of Mudd and Tantric...sounds like an ad from 2001, not 2004...I am surprised that Saliva or Alien Ant Farm didnt get name checked too...
Not to mention, they were presented as an endorsement for a beer that, at best, tastes like lightly refrigerated cat piss.
Call me a Commie, Mick, but If I had to choose between "La Revolucion" and "Spin You Around", I'd gladly choose the former over the later.
Besides... olive drab fatigues are far more fashionable now than listenning to "Come Clean" ever was.
