Is "Toxic" the highest standard to which a Britney Spears song can be measured? I thought it was pretty crappy. But then again, I must have been confused by its video.

Does anyone else think that Gimme More samples and then speeds up the fuzzy bassline from the Siouxsie and the Banshees song Red Light (from 1980's Kaleidoscope)? Or am I just high?

@MJ: Indeed, not only is "Toxic" Britney's best track and one of the top 100-or-so of the "aughts" ['0#s], I can tell you as a professional DJ that it's the only Britney song that "adults" ever request non-ironically.

Also, this new song is not bad. Heavily auto-tuned or pro-tooled or whatevs, but she needs that anyway. Kudos, you anonymous knob-twiddler!
