Bombay Connection Records' Bombshell Baby Of Bombay compiles 12 songs that scored nightclub scenes of Bollywood films from 40 years ago, including Mohammed Rafi's "Jan Pahechan Ho" (above), which appeared in the 1965 film Gumnaam. The disc is painstakingly put together and annotated, with notes and stills on each film, essays, and English translations of the lyrics; we're especially fond of the 1960 track that lent the compilation its title, which has a particularly sick horn section:
Asha Bholse - Mera Nam Hai Shabnam [MP3, link expired]
Iqbal Singh - Bombshell Baby Of Bombay [MP3, link expired]

Bah, I think my first post here got eaten. In brief -- GREAT compilation, this and the first in the series, great choices of mp3s to post. Title track is the only Elvis impersonation worth a damn, ever.
what? no ghost world reference?
wait til Jay-Z gets a hold of this.
Jay-Z or the Black Eyed Peas.
I'll bet you a dollar Gwen Stefani goes Bollywood when she gets sick of her Harajuku fruits. Actually, yeah, what's taking her so long?
