Here's a surefire way to know which bands are on the path to being the next next Nirvana: the Livejournal community Musicsecret. Operating in the vein of mail-to-web art project Postsecret, but with more MS Paint-inspired flair, Musicsecret gives its users the opportunity to unburden themselves of the music-related thoughts percolating in their souls.

Most of the "secrets" fall into three categories: confessions of makeouts that wouldn't make anyone on Donna's Ho Board bat a fake eyelash; strident denials that band X sold out; and denials of those denials. Dig through the archives long enough, though, and you'll find a gem. We'd like to give huge props to the person who saw the undeniable resemblance between ex-Party of Five violin prodigy Lacey Chabert and Fall Out Boy bassist/lyricist Pete Wentz. With an eye like that, kid, you just may have a VH1 clip-show gig in your future.
