Idolator is fascinated by MyFakers—those music fans who demonstrate their unchecked devotion to an artist by spending untold hours setting up a fake MySpace page in their name. We're not sure exactly why anyone would want to do this—pretending to be David Lee Roth is so 1989 (and that's being generous)—but what's amazing is just how many MySpacers actually buy into these blatantly bogus profiles. Just check out the love for this phony Michael Jackson, who has an astonishing 24,089 gullible "friends" (he's not to be confused with this Michael Jackson, who's only duped a mere 5,996 nitwits):
