Not to turn into one of our celeb-tracking sister sites, but we saw Ric Ocasek at New York's Other Music Friday night, and like the rest of the crowd, we couldn't help but stare in astonishment, mostly because the former Cars frontman stands seventeen feet tall and weighs fifty pounds (all numbers approximate).
We were also impressed by the fact that while most of 57-year-old peers were picking up Norah Jones b-sides at the Tower Records fire sale across the street, Ocasek was buying White Mice's self-titled debut. Who knew the same guy who brought us "Magic" was into digital reggae?

Ric knows what he's doing. He's the only thing I like about Weezer.
Are you sure he wasn't buying stuff from the other White Mice? Seems more likely that Other Music would be pimping this!
Ha! No, it was definitely this one...I creepily checked out his purchases.
I'm a little disappointed that we're not going to hear a skronk-metal Weezer album anytime soon in the vein of Muse covering Lightning Bolt...
