Let's Sexy Fighting has a radio rip of the new single by Interpol, "The Heinrich Maneuver." The New York quartet sounds a little bit peppier on this track (maybe because of those lyrics about the West Coast?), but the choppy guitar that defined their earliest songs is still moving the proceedings along:

Heimlich Maneuvers in the Dark
I have never been an Interpol fan, despite spending my days surrounded by their acolytes. They've always struck me as too leaden and droning, but this...
Well, to paraphrase C. Montgomery Burns, I know what I hate, and I don't hate this.
just based on the music, I got a very "Rock Lobster-esque" vibe from this song.
So Carlos D. drops his interest in all things Nazi when it comes to his wardrobe...
...but picks it back up as part of the songwriting process?
Does anyone else think this sounds a little... familiar?
Who knows? I was pleasantly surprised by the versatility they showed on the non-single tracks from Antics. Maybe the rest of the album will be similar.
love it. love interpol. some things just don't change.
Needless to say, this totally gets the TRGAW stamp of approval. Big time.
And whatever to the people that say it sounds like "Slow Hands" -- "Slow Hands" was a Duran Duran song. This is clearly a Smiths song. Catch those squishy synths and the Johnny Marr guitars.
So there.

i don't know, i love them so much. i know this song sounds like most of their other songs just a little bit more upbeat but it's interpol and they will always sound like interpol so that argument aside, i love the lyrics and love them.
