Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Thing has hit the web, just a few weeks ahead of its April 17th release date; after giving it a few listens, we can safely predict that 3/4 of the reviews will include some combination of the words "slick," "hooky" and "Sum 41's Deryck Whibley." "Keep Holding On" was released legitimately several months ago for some movie soundtrack. Which doesn't make it any less AWESOME!
Meh. I don't want Upbeat Avril or Weepy Avril. I want Angsty Avril.
I think Avril sounds like suburbia. And I say that with no malice or judgment. I just immediately think of suburban pool parties when I hear her.
.....(Clean edit): Nothing like sanitizing a dirty mouth. All minty fresh now! Not a bad effort, I thought, on the song. Just hard to listen to with all the s-words sort of cut out...
.....Songs two and three sounded very filler-like.
