If you know where to look, you'll be able to find Gwen Stefani's yodel-addled new album The Great Escape, which has gone and done leaked itself onto the information superhighway. Here's "Yummy," the "disco Tetris" collaboration with Pharrell, which sounds suspiciously Fergilicious:

What happened to Gwen? 'Member when she wasn't all tarted up? I know that's, like, forever ago, but I miss the tom-boy for sure. Even if I hated that band too...
there is nothing special about her voice at all in this song. i'm sufficiently annoyed.
That song blows. I want my bandwidth back.
Does she yodel in this one? I dont have sound at the worksite.
This confirms that the hot emerging 2006 genre is clunky white girl rap (Gwen, Fergie Ferg, Nelly Furtado). I fully expect the next Jessica Simpson album to be produced by Chad Hugo and feature some bubble-headed, mush-mouth flow.
Her vocal phrasing on that DirecTV commercial is pretty good.
Shades of Peaches... Here it?
this has hit the dust bin before even being released. not as catchy, sing songy, and certainly not dumb and bouncy enough for 14 year old white suburban girls to expose their mid-riffs at the school talent show dancing to it.
Fergielicious? Amazing to me that Fergie's worthy of any adjective, dumbfounding that it would end in "-licious." In any case, this song is working its Peaches-licious pedigree like a fatherfucker, no? And Pharrel, well, he's sounding comfortably Pharrel-licious--numbingly so? Anyone else feel like this could be the final season of wickedly stripped-down beats, beat-boxy hooks and buzzing?
Gwen tho? Sure, she's fluff and is getting a little out-there with the "look at this new style I bought up and then WAY overdid!" thing but it's hard to be TOO mad at old ska kids--after all, she stuck with her two-tone tomboy look way past when she could've skipped out and--well, copped free couture and started prancing all over fashion mags like she does now.
Well, actually, maybe it's not so hard to get mad at old ska kids: http://www.filmforum.org/archivedfilms/quad/quadsting.jpg<...
What? You expected something better. Give the girl a break, she's trying to stay on top. Don't act like you wouldn't shake it , to this song.
I sampled the cd on aol somehow, and it's not too hot.
Her first album had a lot of decent, catchy, dance hits, but this one has about...2 or so. The rest are pretty un-listenable.
Stupid biotch. This album should have been called Hollaback 1-10.
