Lil' Wayne's reworking of the Robin Thicke song "Shooter" is ridiculously hot; Lil' Wayne's spitfire verses add a drum-tight tension to Thicke's bank-robbery chronicle, which was originally released in 2003. (And yeah, we're a little late to this party—Voice blogger Tom Breihan called "Shooter" his song of the year ten months ago—but our impulses are pure: we just want to share.)

Yeah that whole album (Tha Carter II) is pretty ridiculous. That goes for everything Weezy does lately, actually.
gross
It'd have been much better if he didn't just slow the song down and rap over the record. I can't even in good conscience call that a mashup.
this is almost as excrutiating as the time i got jacked off to "Year of the Cat" in college. The worst four minutes thirty five seconds of my life.
idolator should start giving out ear exams to commentors. this is one of my favorite singles of the year.
Find the video of the two of them performing on the Tonight Show. Not only is the cultural dissonance between Robin Thicke's cardigan wearing look and Lil' Wayne's normal hip hop threads fun enough, watching Jay Leno walk out after (the admittedly great) performance and introduce the two, you can tell he has no idea what the fuck he just saw. This is the opening track on every hip hop mix I make.
