I developed a serious crush on the lads and ladies of Bishop Allen a few years back, when I was still booking shows; they sent a press kit that included a PowerPoint presentation. Sold! "Click, Click, Click, Click" first appeared on the Brooklyn group's EP-a-month project, but its reappearance on the forthcoming The Broken String is a welcome treat, as the loopy, plucked rhythm of the original is fleshed out with vibrant percussion flourishes and twangy guitar. And "Rain" is sunnier than you'd expect—that toy piano alone will banish any blues in a 100-foot radius:

how come the site looks so damn weird all of a sudden?
It's the Gawker-wide redesign. I kind of like it!
Also, "Rain" has become one of my total summer jammz!
Instant site switchover! Now that's service.
Gawker is experiencing some new, strange feelings...
The only part I'm thinking is odd is how the logo is all tiny now. It's all "...hi i'm idolator hope you like me..."
ok, so i don't have to feel bad about luvving "click, click, etc."? yay!
-- her majesty, cindy hotpoint.
Those are good songs, but my favorite from an EP-a-month project is "Corazon," an ode to a piano found on the street. Probably my favorite song of 2006. I wonder if that's the eponymous piano in the picture.
@How do I say this ... THROWDINI!: Yeah, that song's on the new record -- and they managed to improve upon it.
Indeed, Corazon is spectacular. I'm also a big big big fan of castanets. I wish I jumped on the BA bandwagon ages ago, but you know, never too late.
