First, the Scissor Sisters, now the Pet Shop Boys; you don't have to tell us that the site's reading a little, well, British today. Yet we shan't—shan't—apologize for dropping a few tracks from Fundamental, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe's first album in four years. Its release this summer was all but ignored in the U.S. (though they will be touring here in the fall), meaning that few people got to hears its finest moments: The overseas-hit "I'm With Stupid" and the absurdly over-the-top "The Sodom And Gomorrah Show," which has the kind of punch-every-button-in-the-studio sheen that only producer Trevor Horn can get away with.
Oh, and yes: We know the Sisters are from New York. No need to fill the comments board with reminders.

I'll be sure to report in from their gig at the Arizona State Fair.
The new PSB album has some nice moments on it, but taken as a whole it's mostly shit. It lacks any cohesive element. The first two tracks kick off with an interesting goth-techno sound, but that quickly gives way to the same ol' electronica they've been regurgitating for years. And the 3-4 ballads on this disc are completely unlistenable.
Thanks, that'll be twelve cents please.
I've been damn slack on getting this, and I'm a PSB freak. This weekend I think I'm going to be doing a lot of catching up on discs from this year (thank you, credit at Amoeba...)
the head sister is from seattle, originally.
that was merely a shout-out, not some sort of snotty correction.
