The all-female UK quartet the Mo-Dettes had a slim, slightly spotty output, but their first, self-released single, "White Mice," remains one of that era's finest pure pop achievements—thanks in large part to the way the song ties together lead singer Ramona Carlier's Swiss-accented mocking ("Don't be stupid, don't be limp / No girl likes to love a wimp") and a backing "ooh-ahh" chorus that's straight out of '60s girl-group land.

oh, this is awesome. what a great song. thank you for showing love for early '80s femme-pop-postpunk. (pink military would be great. or the almighty dolly mixture, who i'm told had beef with the mo-dettes back in the day!)
I do adore this band, however, the Long Blondes are bit more Lung Leg & Kenickie than Mo-Dettes. Seriously, listen to Maid to Minx. You'll plotz.
