Thanks to Aleb for heeding our earlier call with an MP3 of L'Trimm's "Cars That Go Boom," which was one of our favorite rollerskating jams back in the day—you know, back when we were too young to know what the "it" in L'Trimm's other hit, "Grab It Like You Want It," actually referred to. Anyway, "Cars" is a fine addition to any Memorial Day BBQ playlist, and if you play it in front of the right crowd, you may unwittingly set off some spontaneous karaoke fireworks:

Dear "Cars That Go Boom",
I love you 4ever.
Dan Gibson
The file ends prematurely at 2:54. (Insert sad face emoticon.)
Otherwise, thanks much for this. This has caused a lot of giggling and embarrassed nostalgia at the office, with coworkers going down the hall singing, "We're Tigra and Bunny, and we like the boom!"
@Xenu: can you try re-downloading? i just played the whole thing straight through.
My favorite remix of this song is by DJ Jay-R, called "My Other Car Is A Beatle" (leads to a page with the mp3 link). Great stuff.
@maura: My coworker pulled it and got the full file, but my computer consistently has been clipping it. Sorry for crying wolf. I hereby owe you one Arcade Fire compliment.
Maura, thank you so much. Ladies' skate, anyone?
Uh I thought "it" referred to "tank-tops on sale at Strawberries."
@DeadTeddy8 (David de Sportszilla): I have that mix too, I just couldn't remember the name of it this morning. It's a really good one.
Seriously? I have to audition to be a commenter?
I first heard this song my senior year in high school when two girls with giant hairsprayed bangs made a video for it in my communications.
My Smiths-loving self was horrified.
And now... now... this mp3 has made me day.
Has Idolator begun a minor Tigra-and-Bunny renaissance? More than once, as I've passed around "Cars That Go Boom" like the flu in coach class, I've heard over a partition or read on my e-mail, "Oh my God! I've found my Halloween costume!"
Thanks...man do I miss "The Box"....
Up next...Midi, Maxi & Efti.
