Bobby Brown Ready To Take Every Little Step Toward A Country Crossover

Yes, that's right: The maybe-heart-attack victim and ex-New Edition member will be one of seven reality-TV whores "celebrities" to live in a house in Nashville, compose songs with Nashville songwriters, and try to break into the world of country music on the John Rich-hosted Gone Country, which will air on CMT next year. Also in the house: Carnie Wilson, Dee Snider, Diana DeGarmo, Maureen McCormick, Sisqo, and Julio Iglesias ... Junior. I'd make a joke about Willie Nelson showing up and helping Junior with a rousing rendition of "To All The Girls I've Loved Before '08," but that's probably happening as I type this, so why don't we just sit back and enjoy some more Don't Be Cruel-era Bobby instead? Bonus clip after the jump.

  • That Bobby Brown video was amazing. It begs the question... why hasn't that late '80s / early '90s style of r&b made a comeback yet? Surely there's an ironic hipster out there who listened to Boyz II Men's "Motownphilly" growing up who's trying to bring it back.
