Andrew Ridgeley Fans, Rejoice: Wham! Set To Reunite

In a testament to the miracles that can happen when legal fees pile up, Wham! members George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley have decided to do a one-off show this December:

"George is thrilled that Andrew's agreed to perform. It was something George had thought about for a long time. He couldn't be happier and can't wait for the gig."

Aww, so nice. Maybe George will even let Andrew do a medley of songs from Son Of Albert, just to be extra-sweet.

  • I demand they do the entire show under UV light.

  • I have been waiting for what seems like millennia for the chance to wear my CHOOSE LIFE t-shirt and fingerless gloves again.

  • I hope this means they'll go back to stuffing shuttlecocks down the front of their shorts.

  • That's the best news I've heard in a long time. I can't wait to find George Michael passed out at a red lignt with blue and white vertical striped booty shorts and a feathered wig. Is Andrew Ridgely still alive?

  • How much will they charge for tix to the show i s what I want to know.

If Babs fans will pay $700 + per ticket Wham! fans will pay at least $250 for the reunited duo live once more. And that's not including buying a brand new pair of lyrcra super-tight orange shorts.

    Won't you tell me...
Why I work so hard for you?
    All to give you money,
    All to give you money...

  • fuck, i actually want to go to this.

  • I plan to celebrate this news with an...ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO!

  • It's a damn shame that George Michael's behavior has turned his career into a punchline, but the man was on a roll for awhile. Hell, I don't know what my pricecap would be, but I'd go see them. "I'm Your Man" is the jam.

  • Prediction: Jay-Z cameo on the "Wham! Rap" performance.

  • Must be running out of weed money.

  • This Wham post has Maura written all of it and if it wasn't Maura, the Idolator editorial staff is frighteningly aligned.

Regardless, many thanks for the nostalgic video link. My hindsight review see's so much more here - in particular, the director/cameraman's shrewd frames that shoot GM conservatively shoulders up, thereby eliminating any artist issues that may have arose with the Black/White Circuit party moves he was whipping out on stage. Love that he got them in during the spotlight dance solo.

And to think that straight America (me included) thought that skipping and dancing/was innocently-hetero trendy and not the gay culture influencing maintstream. Loves it!

Sign me up for the Wham reunion!!!!!

  • OK, someone describe to me Son Of Albert.

It's always the butt of the dollar bargan bin jokes, but I never see this album anywhere. I must know what it sounds like.
