You may have heard that Smashing Pumpkins singer-guitarist-crankypants Billy Corgan—last scene shacking up with Courtney Love—is getting the band back together. And you may also have heard that he's in the studio with Roy Thomas Baker, the man who's worked with Queen, Cheap Trick and the Cars. What's interesting about the recent announcement (and for you non-Pumpkins fans, we're really stretching the definition of "interesting") is that its traced back to Warner/Rerprise, the label that put out Corgan's awful solo album (The Future Embrace) last year, as well as the underrated Zwan record before that. Might this mean that the new Pumpkins (minus guitarist James Iha and bassist D'Arcy Wretzky) already have a deal? Any further info is appreciated.
Sadly, Corgan's work schedule prohibits him from updating his amazing blog, which in the past has featured several anti-bandmate rants and, more importantly, accounts of his time in Hawaii, where he hangs out with his personal psychic.
