Hey, commenter that made the Bim Skala Bim reunion joke yesterday, I'll go you one better. Because "the ska-core-est band of all time" is back, according to the Boston Phoenix:
This time it's official. The [Mighty Might Bosstones] announced a full-fledged Hometown Throwdown — which in its day was the precursor to Dropkick Murphys' St. Paddy's Day homestand and Darkbuster's Hometown Throwup — at the Middle East, December 26-30. Tickets go on sale October 19 at 10 am via Ticketmaster.
"We just kinda stopped playing, we kinda stoped doing it for a while," Dicky said in a radio interview a few minutes ago. "Six months ago Joe Gittleman called me and said, 'What do you think about doing a Throwdown?' Then he said, 'Who can we ge to sing?' I said, 'Joe, why don't you let me take care of it?' "
I fessed up to owning Sublime, and I'll fess up to this: I saw some good Bosstones shows as a youth. Yes, I once went to third-wave ska shows, and I am unashamed. So far this is a one shot deal, but hell, if they reunite for a full tour, I might actually drag my fat ass out to see them, even if that might lead down the slippery slope of reinvesting the Toasters back catalog.
Mighty Mighty Bosstones Reunite For Hometown Throwdown [Boston Phoenix]

I still remember when digging the Bosstones AND Save Ferris was like agreeing with the Israelis AND the Palestinians
A thousand times yes to the Clueless trailer.
When there will be a cable channel that shows nothing but the Haircut 100 Bands Reunited episode 24 hours a day is the real question.
i wonder if Ben Carr will be in attendence.
Stacey Dash was/is so hot.
I had a couple of really early Less Than Jake 45s and stuff that I dug a lot.
holy crap that's Turk from Scrubs!
Now if only they could get the Suicide Machines back together to open that show.
@dog door: You mean "holy crap that's Murray from Clueless!"
That's Donald Faison's definitive role! "I'm keepin' it REAL!"
Wasn't Stacey Dash pushing 30 when she was in "Clueless?" The woman is pure fire, but damn, she has aged VERY well. Watching her running in slow motion in the video for Kanye's "All Fall Down" is basically porn.
No same in the Bosstones' game. Nothing earth-shattering, but they were was fun as all hell and could slap together some really catchy songs. I mean, it's not like we're talking a Reel Big Phish reunion here.
But will the guy who does nothing but skank be there????
Yes! I totally need to hit that up. "Let's Face It" has some of the most cheesy, hackneyed lyrics in music... and I love them for it.
This is cool and all, but wake me when they announce a Springheeled Jack reunion. No third wave discussion is complete without the forefathers of CT SKA,
These guys will never be forgiven by me for inflicting cross-format airplay of "The Impression That I Get" for the entirety of 1997.
Although I do have to tip my hat to Dickie Barrett referring to Fred Durst as a "fat asshole" for his antics at Woodstock '99, aka "The Day the Bros Took Over."
@TheMojoPin: That's because Real Big Fish hasn't stopped touring. You can't have a reunion if you don't break up.
It's okay, though, because they had Streetlight open up for them.
It's time to bust out my plaid Chucks and buy a ticket for home! Now, if we could just make a Dogmatics reunion happen...
@KurticusMaximus:
Damn.
That really kind of ruined my day.
@TheMojoPin: Ha. Well, just in case you want to go see them:

Looks like they're leaving the country. Sorry.
