Guy Who Mumbled A Lot In Shop Class Returns To Trumpet His Middling Rock-Star Success

The Matablog alerted us to this Boston Globe item about Staind lead singer (and sad lil' bear) Aaron Lewis' upcoming gig at his Massachusetts high school. Since we are trying to break into the hipper, younger, heavily armed 18-and-under demographic, we'd love if one of the Longmeadow High School students at the show could send us a review. We'd are also interested in hearing from some of Lewis' classmates about what he was like at that age: Did he imitate Eddie Vedder every day, or only some days? Did he get in trouble for dropping the last vowel from all of his proper nouns? That kind of stuff.

  • I think Staind is only hip to guys like the EMI fella these days.

  • I don't know about high school, but I used to toil at a certain rock museum in Ohio and Staind was once booked as part of their summer concert series. A Cleveland band was slated to open for Staind at this show, but Mr. Lewis refused to share the bill with a local act.

Steven Tyler happened to be there that day, touring the museum, and got wind of Staind's unmerited prickishness. Steven was talked out of confronting Lewis, but he did take the time to meet with the local act to tell them that they were always welcome to open for Aerosmith.

    So there you have it.

  • My friend's Uncle went to school with him. Or maybe just the same school. I think I've heard he was a douche. I'll ask over the weekend and confirm this. Who knows, she might even be able to get you some "exclusive" photos. LOL

  • This guy has almost the same arm tatoo as Kerry King from Slayer. The similarities end there.

  • Kerry King's bald now, so there's that, too.
