Wyclef: Master Of Tough Love

lauryn_hill.jpgIn a recent MTV interview, it was revealed that Wyclef, after going on a tear about Lauryn Hill just a few months back, now apparently thinks the only way there would be a possible Fugees reunion is if Lauryn checks herself in for some serious time on the analyst's couch:

"Lauryn Hill, Mrs Hill, the Hill should go see a psychiatrist - period - Just seek help.

"At this point I really think it will take an act of God to change her, because she is that far out there."

It's one thing when it's Pras saying you're an intractable nutjob, but when the one who's actually managed to carve out a reasonably sized niche in pop culture starts lobbing accusations that you're a few la's short of a full-on Fu-gee-la, it's got to sting a bit more. Then again maybe Lauryn just heard that Michael Jackson comeback single Wyclef recently crapped out and decided she'd be better off scatting over Afrobeat/ska tracks.

  • Believe me, Wyclef knows from crazy... you ever met his "cousin" Jerry? CRAZEEEEE.

  • Once she's got her head sorted, she can work on making her voice not totally sound like shit now.

  • This makes me think of that study that came out talking about how much more likely popstars are to die young. Lauryn Hill is an exceptional talent (and was an Ivy League student at Columbia U in Manhattan) and I really hope she gets herself worked out. Their have been too many reports of her acting like a total fruitbat for there not to be truth to them.

  • Someone told me that MTV used to air music videos and then it hit me. Now I understand why they host the VMA. I feel compelled to watch to see Britney Spears. For me, it's like going to a NASCAR race. I'm only interested in seeing a car wreck. I don't think I'll be disappointed.
