A handful of rap-rock bands that might have rated a brief article in Alternative Press circa 2001 are banding together to raise money for wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center ... by wearing T-shirts. The bands—including (Hed) P.E., the Kottonmouth Kingz, and the Subnoize Souljaz—are quick to stress that this in no way counts as taking any sort of a stand on a corrupt, unwinnable war. Or really having much of a vocal opinion about anything at all. No sir:
"The effort to fundraise for Ward 57 is non-political. They just want to help injured soldiers, who are all basically kids, to acquire the things they need to help them recover from their injuries," says (HED) P.E. frontman Jared Gomes. "(HED) P.E. is on a mission to enlighten the youth about global affairs and individual responsibility."
Way to eye that red state bottom line, Jared. Now, all goofing on these goons aside, if you've ever spent time inside of one caring for a loved one then you know the state of our nation's veteran's hospitals is a disgrace, and if you want to purchase a T-shirt or jersey you can do so here. All proceeds go toward helping the Walter Reed buy new equipment and otherwise defray its costs.

(HED)P.E. is still around? I saw them open for somebody... Fear Factory, maybe, in '99 or so. They were the suckiest bunch of suck that ever sucked. I wouldn't have expected them to be around at the end of that tour, let alone eight years later. You win again, PT Barnum.
Walter REED. Not Reade. Just so you know.
@blobby: thanks.
