For those of you who were wondering what would happen to the Tower Records site near Lincoln Center in New York City, an update:
Discount retailer T.J. Maxx is eyeing the former Tower Records space at Lincoln Center to open its second store in Manhattan.
Real estate industry insiders say that the Framingham, Mass.-based company is close to signing a lease for a 50,000-square-foot site at 1961 Broadway at West 66th Street. Tower Records vacated the three-floor space Jan. 1 after going bankrupt.
Take heart, former classical-section devotees—at least it isn't another FYE.
