  • Is it wrong that, upon first glance of Bryan Ferry's album cover, the first thing I thought of was Strong Bad's tour de force performance in Dangeresque?

  • Remember? How, in XANADU, that one dude from the Warriors' job was to, like, repaint album covers in large-scale, to display outside the record store? That was cool.

  • I think covers are getting worse because people don't really care about covers anymore and there isn't reason to waste budget commissioning great art.

That Megadeth record is going to be their first major label record since 1998. From what I have read they are putting a lot of effort in the studio to make this a hell of an album. Although that cover looks like a stink turd Roadrunner had an intern slap together.

Oh art, how I miss you. I, like MANY pre-teens in the mid-80's, bought Iron Maiden's "Life After Death" solely because that album was the coolest looking thing in the whole store. Their whole plan was to grab you with Eddie, then keep you with the tunes. Now, you have to be grabbed in Hot Topic with the logo on a T-shirt?

  • I point you to my own on-going war against bad artwork...

  • Even if the cover were awesome, I'd still be giggling over how silly United Abominations is for an album title.

Despite what the history of the genre might lead you to believe, awful puns do not make for awesome metal album titles.

  • Oh, Bryan. Why? Why?!?!?

  • So it's not too soon after 9/11 to depict an attack on a landmark NYC skyscraper. I look forward to the reissue of that Coup album with the original artwork.

  • You would think with all the clever and often flawless Photoshop work being turned in at places like Worth1000 and SomethingAwful, these labels would have realized that they could very easily go and hire someone who could turn in something that at least had higher DPI.
