I wasn't around on Friday to post this when this guy first brought it to my attention, but thankfully my trusty RSS reader never forgets. This video (!) for Pissed Jeans' single (!) "I've Still Got You (Ice Cream)" features just about everything I want in a tiny digital square playing music with pictures at the moment (i.e. it starts off looking like Will Shatter somehow got hired as program director for Noggin but then spent most of the year's budget on Mad Dog "Bling Bling" blue raspberry-flavored fortified wine*, so he made due with some dry ice and shaking the camera around). Plus the song alone has pulled me back from the brink multiple times this year already. Oh, and minus 10,000 points to Stereogum for even off-handedly comparing America's greatest (current) rock band to friggin' Mute Math.
*Do not actually drink this.

wow.. america's greatest current rock band?
really, guy? really?
I'm all fine with that description!
The link to Anthony's blog is a little hosed.
Wow. They sound *exactly* like every single band I ever saw in Columbus, Ohio from 1992 through, like, 2000.
I miss David Yow. he was the only thing that made bands like this interesting.
I'm checking iTunes tonight, and they better have this video for sale.
As for the "this sounds so 90s" thing. Well? It's been a decade since the 90s. I'm quite sure a lot of slightly overlooked ugly rock from the 90s will be whipped cream to kids of the 2010's.
I won't get into the Jesus Lizard/Birthday Party analogy. I liked the Lizard a lot, but they've always reminded me of the Birthday Party first and foremost.
Been there, done that. Cheeky, at best, and little else.
