So 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, And Timbaland Walk Into The Internet...

If you were ever wondering whether or not 50 Cent actually had the libido of a 14-year-old boy, wonder no further: The first sequence in his clip for "Ayo Technology," 50's Timbalake-aided attempt to drum up buzz for Curtis, features a scene where he's equipped with just enough X-ray vision to sees through a car and a woman's clothes, although only to her underwear.

The BET edit of the clip has a lot of pixelated-out shots of writhing women, although it's the Jerry Springer type of pixelation where any titillation said shots are supposed to supply is replaced by you wondering if it's just been added in to make the video seem "edgy." It does match up nicely with Timbaland's 8-bit-malfunction beat, though, and that's making me think that a Nintendo remix of the clip—maybe within the world of Elevator Action—would be terrific.

  • Is this really a 50 Cent track featuring JT and Timbaland? 'Cause it sure sounds like the other way around.

Also, I can still remember when 50 was seen as the next great rapper - now he just sounds like Diddy with a lisp. Magoo, all is forgiven!

  • JT and Timba, following Ludacris, Ciara, and Akon, have become the "featuring" artists of the hour. Put the current king anywhere on a track, and you've got a top ten record. If anything, there's too much 50 on this track.

  • Wow, Timbaland has certainly been listening to the 8-bit Collective. I agree this track has way to much 50 on it, but I like it a lot. just do the 50-less edit, and keep the Timberlake chorus, and that nice distorted Timba-voice on top. Then... a banger has been made.

  • What Dre and Cool were to "Hate It or Love It" - the reasons why it was Fitty's (and Game's) best single of that year - Tim and Tim are to this. Honestly, during Fitty's parts I'm waiting for the two Tims to pipe up.

  • Can't make a dollar -- or a listenable track -- outta 50 Cent. . .

  • @Thierry: now he just sounds like Diddy with a lisp

    "now"

  • I can't decide what effect they were going with in the video. Is it sexual "Eraser" or sexual "Matrix"? Either way, I do dig the Castlevania-ish 8-bit warbling.

  • All the projected lead-off singles from "Curtis" tank, in a row. With the release date bumped back and set, 50's people call up Timbaland in a desperate bit of strategy and ask him to cook up a last-minute single quick, and to please get JT on the hook. Timbaland agrees, taking and extra $100 grand on his usual fee for the short notice, pulls the beat from "My Love" up on his Pro Tools, strips it down and replaces the drum sounds, fucks around for five minutes on his Midi keyboard. He fires the instrumental off to LA where Justin records his lines in his home studio. And like that, Curtis has its most promising single.

I'm in the wrong business, man.
