David Lee Roth was supposed to appear in the above clip for the Dresden Dolls' "Shores Of California"—an homage to his clip for his "California Girls" cover—but he had to turn it down, thanks to some "weird publicity shit with Van Halen." Here's hoping that he turns up in the Dolls' next video, and that it's a "Yankee Rose" homage. (Maybe he can play the frustrated bride?)

1. Video fails without the fisheye lens
2. Huh, so that's what Dresden Dolls sound like.
Video: Clever
Song: BORING
Bad Combo
@Jay-C: yeah, i should have mentioned that it kinda works better with the sound off. my bad.
Zzzzzz.....wha...what?
I think the Dresden Dolls are miscalculating the pop culture references their high school drama club audience will be able to recognize.
The problem is it's a pretty mediocre song, even for the Dolls. And wtf is the makeout scene with Kelly? I expected the song to have a 'Shoes' breakdown.
What a garish video. This is what you get when you drag the "Flowers in the Attic" out under the hot California sun. Did you guys hear that Amanda is coming out with a solo album...produced by Ben Folds?
