best part: this was at a t-bones game. i love my hometown...
....."Smoke on the Water" had a seriously rude, wake-your-ass-up guitar riff, for those times, and it deserves its kudos, and place of honor. However, no one who covers it gets the Jon Lord organ sound right. Hammond-organ patches on today's digital keyboards STILL pretty much suck! That unique growl from those early rock days makes chills go up and down my spine...
