Our plugged-in brother Gizmodo has been all over today's announcement of the Zune, Microsoft's new portable media player:
Zune Accessories: You Know You Want Them: Oooh ... plugs and docks!
Microsoft Zune In Action: Real Video Of The UI: Find out how you'd interface with the Zune (and keep your eyes peeled for cameos by Be Your Own Pet, The Thermals, and the top-notch CSS track "Alala").
Giz Interview: J Allard Calls iPod the Pong of Digital Audio (Snap!): A chat about wifi trolling, classic video games, and Snow Crash.
And two more music bloggers who were on the Zune junket report: Coolfer crunches numbers and reveals more technical specs; meanwhile, Music for Robots defers to the Stereogum writeup and notes with some bemusement that Microsoft is now courting the indie crowd.

MS is so fucking indie rock I can't stand it. Really a company with a $263 billion market cap, that's some indie ass shit.
How long until I see Bill Gates on my TV sporting a Foreigner 4 retro-ironic tee and shilling these things and talking about how much ass the Cherry Valence kicks? Oh wait, can I be the first to verb it? "Dude, can you Zune that song over to me? Sweet."
If by "Zune that" you mean "get use of it for only 3 days," then Blockbuster just "Zuned" 'Ghost Dad' over to me last night.
