You've got the wrong link for the gunpoint one. Here's the correct link:

It's a gesture to the fans, mackro. It'd be way more lucrative to play the Theater at MSG, pick up a hefty check, then move on to Philly or Boston the next night. As it is, fans get to see them in a venue much smaller and cooler than they realistically should be able to. Plus they're breaking in new material.

That said, I'll trade my Wednesday tickets for Season 2 of Fawlty Towers and a mint-nr mint Ty Cobb Cracker Jack card.

Bob Loblaw

This may sound really bizarre for NYCers, but if the band is touring around these five dates nearby, maybe some folks in NYC might want to consider -- you know -- going to either Boston or Philly to see them instead? It might even be cheaper that way, even after travel expenses. Just a thought.

Then again, I have no idea if this 5-night-stand is a one-off or not.

I can't help wanting to figure out why The Fire prefers to do these type of classic-rock cliches in NYC, even though it's probably just for fun. First, it was the playing-in-the-streets thing. Now it's the five-night stand. Are they going to be ironically draping themselves in the Canadian flag a la Who next?

mackro

agreed on the sanctimonious prick comment ... sell the ducks, quit pretending you're some sort of charity driven purist and admit you're an ego driven douche who will no doubt blog and brag about this "humanitarian" act you're trying to pull off

Butch Huskey
