I'm with throwbot - the only valid bit in the whole thing is the NPR slam. The lack-of-disclosure accusation is teh lame (who hasn't been on NPR at some point? fuck, I did a bit for them years ago about Supergrass; would that make me a teat-sucker?) - but the quote, "Although many of the stories referred to Pazz and Jop as a venerable and cherished institution, most of these media outlets had little or nothing to say about the poll in year's past, usually not reporting on it at all," is dead-on. Where was NPR, and the Times for that matter, when, say, P&J '98 came out? It's been like a tree falling in a very crowded but media-ignored forest for years now.

The Matos slams are childish, petty and, best as I can tell, a mischaracterization of both his writing and his attitude. It wrecks what little credibility the piece might have had as a manifesto. For a piece that slams circle-jerking, unpaid bloggers, the whole thing reads like a first-draft LiveJournal rant.
