I've read that, while it wasn't technically cleared, Apple knew about it and kind of looked the other way.

Anyway, it's stupid for Wu-Tang to hype a Beatles sample as "history being made." There are all kinds of reasons to anticipate a new Wu album, but a willingness to pay Harrisongs' mechanicals isn't even on the list.
