Because Apple had unilaterally decided to release Let It Be the same day as Paul's first solo album? Then as now, it's more to do with the artist's ego than any real financial concern. Noone even knew Ghost was dropping an album this year until he suddenly announced that Wu Tang had infringed on his release date.
