@R. Morast: I think he meant moreso the price was too much. And I agree. I just shelled out $100+ for an $86 ticket for Sly & The Family Stone in NYC. And fees, etc made me forego Stevie Wonder at Madison Square Garden, and probably Hall & Oates at Beacon Theater (no, I'm under 30 years old, and no I'm not trying to be ironic)

DJP,

I understand there's a noticeable degree of hipster/academic elitism that's pasted all over this Web site's comments section. But did you actually stop going to concerts because of a philosophical disagreement with Clear Channel? From the perspective of a music fan, that's like deciding to stop eating because you're offended that Taco Bell doesn't use real meat. Like fast food chains, all concert promoters smell suspect (at least a little).
